Using the Legacy Data Import Format in PoolMMS

PoolMMS v2 provides limited support for the import formats used in the previous version of the software, including the "Legacy" format. The Legacy format was the original import format for PoolMMS v1, and while it has been considered outdated since 2021, it is still available in v2 for backwards compatibility purposes.

Why Is the Legacy Format Deprecated?

The Legacy format was originally deprecated in 2021 due to its inability to fully import members into the modern system. PoolMMS has undergone significant changes since its initial beta release in 2020, and the Legacy format is unable to accommodate these changes. As a result, the Legacy format lacks the ability to fully import members into the system and instead overrides values with placeholder data. For example, all members' dates of birth will be set to 1/1/1970.

Should I Use the Legacy Format?

We strongly recommend against using the Legacy format for any new data imports. As noted above, the format is irreparably broken and lacks the ability to fully import members into the modern PoolMMS system. If you have concerns about the compatibility of your data with PoolMMS v2, we recommend using a supported format, or creating a custom one in your Admin panel.

How Do I Use the Legacy Format?

While the Legacy format is no longer officially supported, it is still available in some capacity for backwards compatibility purposes. Information on how to use the Legacy format is available in the v1 documentation at: https://kb.salvatorelli.group/poolmms/data-import-templates/.

If you have any further questions or concerns about the Legacy format, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@poolmms.com.

Unfortunately the 'Smart'/'New' format has been retired and will not be supported in the new versions of PoolMMS. If you need the functionality of this format, please reach out to support@poolmms.com
